Nada in Nice

ST LAURANT DU VAR.

We leave the aire by 9:30 and what follows is an absolutely stunning journey through the Gorges de Verdun. The road is closed part way up so the diversion takes us on a farm track for 1km., a great test for the suspension.

We arrive at the Aire by 2pm but it already choc-a-bloc. It's the last Aire before Monaco so we're forced to seek a campsite. Fortunately, we stumble across one within a kilometre or so. It's pretty basic and not cheap but it suits our needs.

The WC is an old fashioned type, squat no bowl!

We ask about the local buses into Nice but it seems too complicated. We drive into Nice and head west looking for a beach. However, we are unable to park so we return to the campsite for an early night.
