Lakes, Forests and Rain.
FLEKKEFJORD.
This country is such a contrast to the flat lands seen so far. Gone are the long straight roads, now we encounter hills, forests and lakes. Rosie tells me it reminds her of Scotland. It's so picturesque. Gone also has the wind so we spend a hot night, the temperature was still 26 at 10pm last night.
We head inland to Hornes after Rosie has checked that we are legal with the tolls. Her concern is that the insurance company may use it against us if we are in an accident. Yesterday, we couldn't find an ATM all evening. Today we stumble across a large bank in a one-horse town. Grandma is behind the counter and security takes the form of a 4 foot tall stuffed wolf. Further on, we stop for a cup of tea over looking a lake. Fabulous venue.
Unfortunately, it starts to rain as we approach our destination and the campsite is very commercial. These two factors persuaded us to move on. We pick Flekkefjord which was intended to be tomorrow's stop.
Some great views as we travel alongside lakes on the route down to the sea. The site is a large car park by the harbour. We need help to feed the machine to pay for parking. A woman points out politely that we don't know what day it is, we were trying to pay for yesterday!
Walk into the town, a pretty place with wooden buildings and an old fashioned feel about the place. Shops shut at lunchtime on Saturday and don't open on a Sunday. One shop-front offers "Tourist Facilities" between 6am and 11pm. The include a WC, shower, WiFi and washing machines all for free!
