Narrow Roads & Stunning Views.
NORDSJOVEGEN.
We use the "Tourist Facilities" again this morning. We follow the coast road viewing lakes and hills along the way. Then the road narrows and becomes a difficult stretch. I chose to reverse uphill for an Italian who seemed clueless ( a good act!), then squeezed past a lorry. Drove through tunnels and around tight bends. Rewarded with stunning views of the fjords.
Relax with a cup of tea in Sokndal to recover from the stress of the driving.
Drive on to Egersund but unhappy with the car park. We'd passed a couple of likely spots & settle on a rest stop providing a WC and the security of other motorhomes.
Walk to the harbour passing a likely swimming spot for tomorrow. Clamber over the rocks and have to sneak through a garden on the way home.
Joined in the site by two German families who shared the car park with us last night. Chat to two Norwegians. Their pension starts at Euro 14k to Euro 26k. She's a tour guide for her summer job, they're both retired. We rejoin them after dinner. A couple in a Dutch van come over looking for help in finding a garage with LPG. Two women, one from Indian the other from Holland. They met in Sri Lanka 20 year's ago. The Norwegian asked the Indian if she gets mistaken for a gypsy. The papers advise not to speak to Romanies because they're mainly thieves. I think that she was trying to explain any adverse reaction but it still sounded a strange comment.
