Relaxing in Risor.
RISOR.
The rain continued off and on all night. The temperature has dropped to a pleasant 20 degrees and the dust has disappeared from the van. We learn later that the lighthouse is the southerly most point in Norway.
A straightforward journey to Risor on the south east coast. A couple of stops on route, one for a photo opportunity the other for a cup of tea. We arrive at 1:30 in a large car park. The handbook is a little ambitious with the truth. For instance, the toilets and showers shown as on site are a 10 minute walk away.
A catamaran race is in progress in the harbour. We watch as on capsized, one of the floats finishing in the air. A couple of sailors jump off but no injuries, thankfully.
We sit next to a grandfather rocking a one-year old in a push chair. He used to be a lawyer and has a great command of English. He tells us that Finland and Sweden are boring, full of trees and lakes. As opposed to Norway's? He takes our photograph:
A lazy day otherwise. A couple of walks around the town then lasagne for dinner. We use the microwave without blowing a fuse.progress, indeed.
