The Costa Del Sol Lives Up To It's Name.

ALMAYATE.

Well it was no surprise that we didn't make the free viewing of the cathedral between 8:30 and 9:30, this morning. We're both recovering from our long day, yesterday. We shared the site with be pair of owls who, regularly, call to each other overnight.

On the road by 11am. We choose the motorway route because it's over 100 miles through the hills. We stop for a coffee at a services about an hour into the journey. Only seats available at the counter as the tables are being set for lunch. Enjoy the caffeine boost and move on.

We arrive at Almayate just after 2pm. The site is just off the national road and offers full services for 10 euros per night. Initially, I can't get the electricity to work so the owner disconnects the van next to me and replaces it with my lead. I assume that the van is wintered until the owner returns with his son. He doesn't seem bothered about the switch, though.

The bikes are given a run out. Torres del Mar is about 5 miles away so we cycle along the main road at first until we approach the coast. Then a fabulous cycle path runs for at least a mile. We park the bikes and walk into town looking for a cash machine. Mission accomplished, we celebrate with a beer in the square.

Then retrace our steps along the prom and then the road.

The temperature reached 23 degrees this afternoon, the benefit of being so far south. The site is almost full but very few people about so I assume the vans are parked for winter.

Lasagne in the van because we can cook with electricity, the first time in almost a fortnight.
