Time To Go Home (At Least The Spanish Version)
CAMPOVERDE.
The campsite manager gave Rosie a map of the area when we arrived last night. He explained that the area has been used frequently for filming westerns. We follow the coast and park at Las Negras. A number of motorhomes are parked, seemingly for the winter. As with many seaside towns, it is almost empty and, as a result, looks drab. One cafe is open and there appears to be a queue outside waiting to go on a scuba diving course. Rather them than us in the cold water.
We call at Aguilas for provisions. We came here for a race 18 months ago and didn't realise how big the town is, then.
On to our destination for the night, Calnegre. We arrive by 2pm. The village is similar to Las Negras. A couple of campsites one before the beach and the other beyond but neither appeals to us. We eat lunch and check the time for the journey back to Campoverde.
The decision is to go home, we're only 2 hours away. Why pay for a night's accommodation when we're so close? We arrive at 5pm and glad that we did. So ends stage 3 of our trip. We are going to winterise the van somewhere nearby and will start stage 4 at the end of March 2019.
