On The Road Again, Eventually.
MONCOFA.
We flew back to Spain last Saturday, Paul's first experience of Corvera Airport but Rosie had used it last month. It's modern and clean but only a few flights are using it currently. Waiting in Manchester Airport, we hear an announcement for the final call for passenger Lush. There was only only place he could have been with a name like that, the bar!
Collected the van on Sunday, loaded it on Monday and planned to leave on Tuesday morning. However, nothing is simple when you don't know what you are doing. We try to turn the water heater on without turning the gas on. This trips the failsafe cut out. Fortunately, Rosie has made good notes after experiencing this in Portugal last year. Next, we filled the water and flushed it through. Except that it only trickled out. We had to visit the beach side car park to find a slope. Finally, it flowed after a hairball was spat out.
Notice how clean Bella looks, how long will that last?
The plan didn't survive the evening, we joined Mel and Julie for a curry and stayed in the restaurant too long.
Finally left at 1:30 in the afternoon with a destination beyond Valencia. Took the toll road to avoid Altea, which always seems to be gridlocked, but otherwise stuck to the free roads. Stopped just after Denia in a smaller town called Oliva. A late lunch, at 5pm, on the beach in the sunshine.
Still had two hours of driving before we arrived at Moncofa. A typical coastal town which looks very sad in the close season. We find a small cafe still open but no food is served. Settle for a vino blanco and coffee and an early night.
