Floral Cottages, Cancelled Ferries and A Lakeside Pitch.
SUCHEDNIOW.
Rosie's turn to drive to keep her hand in. It's about 20 miles to the farming village of Zalipie whose claim to fame is the cottages are hand painted with flowers. The inside walls are also similarly decorated. The is a museum cottage which displays the inside walls. Of course, it is closed today, and every Monday. Even the inside walls of the church are decorated. We discover one barn sells souvenirs. Rosie likes the ceramic bells and wants to buy one. The girl sounds like she is asking for 50 forint. She really wants 15 so Rosie buys three, roughly £3 each.
We're heading north and the quicker route involves a ferry trip. It's just leaving as we arrive but is very short about metres. However when he returns, he signals that it isn't going again. We assume that it is too windy. A 30 mile detail ensues.
Arrive at the campsite by 3:30pm. It is situated in a sports complex on the edge of a lake. Only one other van on a site which boasts space for 150. We park right on the edge of the water. £15 buys a spot, water, electricity and use of the washer and tumble drier. Plus, it is a fabulous spot for tonight. A walk around the lake takes an hour and gives us an appetite for dinner.
