A Hairdo And A Harbour.
GIERLOZ.
We were joined overnight by a van from Belgium. A man is taking a hairless cat for a walk. Later in the evening, we learn that there are two cats and the woman in the van is allergic to animal hair. The cats are sphinx. The couple hire a van each year and visit war museums.
We spend the day in Gizycho, a town on a large lake. We park on the edge of town a walk a mile into the centre. Rosie finds a hairdresser's at the third attempt.
So Paul spends a couple of hours wandering around. One of the attractions is a manually operated bridge. Unfortunately, it doesn't open at the appointed time. Other features include a water tower which offers panoramic views of the area.
We walk to the shore of the lake and find a beach and a number of restaurants. We choose one offering local delicacies. Rosie chooses potato dumplings stuffed with salmon and egg. Paul opts for fish soup with fishballs. Both are tasty and filling.
Back at the Wolf's Lair, the cafe owner is closing up. Just time for a beer each. He seems pleased to see us and presents us with a sugar lolly when we explain that I am running tomorrow morning.
