Cavorting Around Christchurch

CHRISTCHURCH. 15 NOVEMBER 2024.
We found a stain on the sheet last night which, if it’s our fault, will result in a charge, of course. We stop to report it on the way out and are told that it’s probably rust. The owner explains that the charge relates to makeup on the sheets, modern makeup is waterproof so it’s difficult to remove.
The plan was to walk in the forest before leaving Hanmer but we couldn’t find a suitable parking spot so left. We stop in Amberley for coffee. There’s an aviary in the park next door, the birds are so colourful but it’s a shame they are couped up. Rosie talks to a woman who’s moved here from Cornwall.
We arrive at the guest house early, we can’t get in until 1pm, so we find the park for tomorrow. We return at 1:15 to be greeted with “You’re Early”. We’re in a cabin but there is no toilet. We have a dedicated one for our room in the main house.

We drive to Christchurch and spend the afternoon looking around. Rosie chooses the shops, Paul the sights. He finds that there is a sculpture by Anthony Gormley in the river (Avon).

We pick up dinner from Pak n Save and are rewarded with a voucher for money off petrol, result!
